With a growing slate of travel experiences behind them, the average Indian online traveler has gotten more than a taste of leisure travel. But their hunger to venture out continues to grow; the more they travel, the more they want to travel. Among Indian online adults who took a leisure trip in the past 12 months, travel frequency is rising dramatically. Online leisure travelers now take 3.3 leisure trips per year, most of which are holidays.

More travelers are also looking beyond India’s borders for their next adventure, with two in five online travelers taking an international leisure trip in the past 12 months. Nearly four in 10 of these travelers were traveling abroad for the first time, with millennials and rural residents most likely to be taking their first international trip.
These trends highlight the Indian travel market's strong potential for future growth, as the country's increasingly experienced online traveler population is joined by a new generation eager to explore the world.
