Summary
While 2021 presented some challenges for all travel markets, the Middle East region has been adaptive. Through changing pandemic restrictions and fluctuating demand, the region saw improvements in gross bookings for 2021, at 34% growth from 2020. A return to pre-pandemic levels may occur in some segments by 2023, with overall market recovery anticipated by 2025.
Recent growth has been predominantly driven by domestic and intra-regional trips. International travel began reopening in 2021, with an emphasis on strict health and safety measures. Expansion to full-scale reopening is well on its way, with an eye on hosting large events and welcoming sizeable visitor volume.
This report provides market sizing, projections and key segment analysis for the Middle East travel industry through 2025. In addition to regional coverage, the report includes breakout data and analysis for several key country markets: the U.A.E., Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
