In 2019, U.S. leisure travel jumped five percentage points, as the population expanded to match the highest point in the past decade. Leisure travelers took more frequent trips and average household travel spend climbed as well.
However, 2020 will tell a different story as the impact of the coronavirus pandemic plays out across all travel segments and traveler demographics.
